Gal Crush of the Week: Veronica

veronica

Hey gorgeous gals, I’m Veronica (Vonni for short), I’m 21 years old and I studied a Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in marketing at the University of Wollongong! My day job is my ultimate dream right now. I’m working for St Frock as their Marketing and Social Media Coordinator and can I just say… there are puppies in the office every day. Yep. You heard it right. Puppies.

If I were to describe myself in three words… I would say I’m bubbly, kind and ambitious.

I always blow my pay-check on… I do have a few guilty pleasures, and I find myself blowing my pay-check on cute clothes at work (work discount though right? It’s an investment!), coffee and food. Who doesn’t spend their pay-check on food? If you’re that person, please message me, I need advice asap.

I’m currently… working for St Frock’s marketing team, which is a small (but rapidly growing) business. It’s freaking awesome to be a part of such a fun, hard-working and talented team. Everyone who I work with is amazing at their job, have creative minds and are constantly thinking outside the box. I’m also side hustling as a YouTube Creator! It’s a huge passion of mine to help people live their best life and be happier. YouTube is such a surreal and perfect platform for me to do that!

I got into marketing at university because… I love understanding the psychology of consumer behaviour, have been addicted to social media since mastering HTML code on Myspace, and learnt first hand about marketing through my YouTube channel at a young age! It was great to find a company like St Frock, which combines my love of fashion, social media and creativity all-in-one.

Veronica in real life, coffee drinker, fun loving, puppy adoring gal.

What I love about it… I love the creative freedom to make epic content for St Frock and how much I’m learning on the job. I’m a big believer in always trying new things, and if you fail, it’s all a great learning experience.

What I don’t love about it… I can’t think of a negative with this job really! Probably that I can’t afford to buy every single item on the website, because I legit love like 99.9% of it.

What I’ve learned from this experience… From working at St Frock, I have learned that my strengths lie in conceptualising creative ideas for social media, market research and making daily tasks more efficient. I’ve also learned that I slower at analysing numerical data and would love to improve my skills in Photoshop.

My advice to anyone pursuing this pathway is… in marketing, communications, PR, whatever you’re studying, you need to get internships, do freelance work, and get involved in clubs at universities. This small part of your life is going to set you up for who you’re going to be and propel you in the direction that you want to go! Also finding friends who are like-minded and have the best intentions for you really make a world of difference!

I’m passionate about… I’m ultimately passionate about people, and helping everyone I can to live their best life. We may only be here once and we’ve got to make it count! Every day is a new opportunity to leave an incredible legacy for yourself and help others also live to the their full potential.

Most people don’t know this about me… but I was a world athlete for baton twirling, and competed nationally in baton for 11 years.

In 5 years time, I’d love to still be creating YouTube videos! Aaaand I’d love to own a golden retriever. Honestly the dream.
